Griselinia littoralis, commonly known as Coastal Griselinia, is a hardy evergreen shrub that can reach heights of 2 to 5 metres. It features smaller, pointier leaves compared to its siblings, which are glossy, dark green, thick, and leathery, providing a lush appearance. This species forms a more compact bush or tree, making it particularly desirable for thick hedging and screening. Native to New Zealand, it is commonly found in coastal forests and scrublands. Coastal Griselinia thrives best in well-drained soils and prefers sunny to partially shaded locations. It is tolerant of coastal conditions, making it suitable for seaside gardens, and can also withstand light frosts and wind, enhancing its versatility in various landscaping applications.
