Griselinia mysterialis is a unique species discovered by the Riverside team, propagated from a wild tree that they found. This hardy evergreen shrub typically grows to heights of 1.5 to 3 metres and features smaller, raindrop-shaped leaves that are pointy at the end, making it ideal for creating a tighter and more compact hedge. Its glossy, dark green foliage provides an attractive appearance year-round. Naturally found in New Zealand, this species thrives best in well-drained soils and prefers sunny to partially shaded locations. Griselinia mysterialis is used for hedging and screening. If you are driving past Riverside Horticulture, you’ll see this species prominently along our front boundary as a hedge.
